1. Fired up : Listening to my favorite song gets me all fired up

  = excited; enthusiastic

2. Backfire : I know my plan could backfire, but I'm still going to try doing it. 

 = fail

3. On fire : He is on fire right now! 

 =  burning or doing very well

4. Firewater : You should probably cut back on the firewater, buddy

 = alcohol

5. Fighting fire with fire : Sometimes the only way to get what you want is to fight fire with fire

 = faced the problem

6. Fire : Beyonce's new music video is fire!

 = honey 잼!ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

7. Playing with fire : If you play with fire, you might get burned. 

 = 그대로 불장난....

8. Adding fuel to the fire : He was already annoyed, but continuing to ask hum questions only added fuel to the fire 

 = 불난집에 부채질하다.

1. Straight from the horse's mouth : I'll believe it when I hear it straight from the horse's mouth

  = directly from the sources of information

2. Beeline : He made a beeline to the bathroom

  = short cut , straightly

3. Horseplay : If you continue all that horseplay, your're going to get hurt!

  = roughhousing, sometimes mock-wrestling

4. Fishy : She suspected something fishy was going on. 

  = something suspected~

5. Drop like flies : It was so hot outside that ppl were dropping like flies

  = Rapidly collapse, die, or drop out, usually referring to a group rather than an individual

  = flies mean "group of ppl" or "so many ppl"

6. Copycat : My little sister is such a copycat!

  = Someone said that Samsung is copycat...LOL

7. Chicken out : He was supposed to see the scary movie with her, but he chickened out. 

  = get scary~

8. Cat nap : I didn't sleep well last night, so I'm gonna need a cat nap later~

  = sleep short time~

9. Wouldn't hurt a fly : I don't think he did it. He wouldn't hurt a fly

  = they are a gentle person and that they would not do anything to injure or upset anyone

10. Fish out of water : When you move to a new city, you always feel like a fish out of water at first.

  = One who does not feel comfortable in a new environment

인간이란 동물은 참으로 연약하기 짝이 없는 것 같아도 그 의지와 정신만큼은 찬란하리라....

열심히 살던 사람들조차 한 순간 갑작스러운 큰 병을 걸릴 수도 있고,

그렇게 삶은 허무하게 내쳐질수도 있다. 미래는 누구도 알 수가 없다.

무엇이 중요한 것일까? 나는 어떻게 행동하게 될까?

그 상황에 직면하게 된다면....

내 숨결이 바람이 될 때...

2016년 베스트셀러 리스트에서 보았던지라 스쳐지나던 중 호기심에 펼쳐 보았다.

읽어내려가며 실화인가? 란 생각이 들었고, 호기심을 적당히 자극하여 어느 덧 책에 푹 빠져버렸다. 

너무 현실적이면서도 현란한 글 솜씨가 의사라고 하기에는 너무 정교한 기분이었다고 할까...?

( 여기서부터 짧지만 스포주의 ) 

2015년 3월에 생을 마감한 의사 자신의 이야기...

인생을 열심히 살아왔고 노력도 드디어 빛을 보게 될 즈음...

암에 걸렸다는 것을 알게된 30대중반 의사.

죽음을 대하는 자세와 그 순간조차 보여지는 꿈을 향한 의지. 그리고 가족에 대한 사랑....

모든 것들이 쉽사리 읽고 잊혀버릴수 있는 내용이 아니다.

뒷 내용은 뻔하다. 그러나 한페이지 한페이지 읽어갈수록 와닿는 감동은 진해졌다.  

태어난지 다섯달 밖에 안되는 딸을 마지막으로 안아보고 

스스로가 안락치료를 선택함으로써 죽음을 받아들일 준비가 되었다고 말하며

그렇게 의사는 자신의 인생을 마감을 짓고,

그것을 지켜보던 부인이 글을 마무리 짓는다.

우리는 살아가다보면서 진지하게 생각해볼만하지만 일상에 젖어 잊혀져버리게 되는 것... 

간혹 찾아오는 주변의 사건 사고에 문득 되뇌이게 되는 것...그것이 죽음인 것 같다.

모든 생명을 가진 종은 본인의지와 상관없이 삶을 부여받고, 대게 본인의지와 무관하게 삶을 끝내게된다.

죽음에 대한 성찰....

누구나 한번쯤은 생각해 봐야 하지 않을까?

의외로 나는 많이 생각하고 있는 것 같지만 부족하디 부족한 성찰인 것 같다.

아니...과연 성찰이었던 것일까?
